Tractors India goes public.

India’s first indigenously manufactured mobile crane rolls out of the company’s Kamarhatty plant in Calcutta.
Dealership for Caterpillar extends to Nepal,Sikkim, Bhutan and Myanmar.
Manufactures India’s first rough terrain crane.
Changes its name to become TIL Limited.
Manufactures India’s first 100-tonne truck-mounted mobile crane.
TIL concludes an agreement with Grove Worldwide (USA) for transfer of crane technology for the manufacture of mobile cranes in the 20–100 Metric Tonne category.
Completes 50th year of its corporate journey.
TIL sets up Myanmar Tractors and Trading Company Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary, subsequently renamed as Myanmar Tractors Ltd (MTL).
Sets up its subsidiary in Nepal called Tractors Nepal Private Ltd.
TIL establishes TIL Overseas Pte Ltd, another fully owned subsidiary, in Singapore.
TIL is also awarded the Highest Exporter’s Trophy for the Eastern region by the Engineering Export Promotion Council in the capital goods category.
Initiates the first Maintenance & Repair Contract (MARC) in India with Tata Steel (South Eastern Block).
Initiates the first Caterpillar Rental Store in India at Sahibabad in Delhi.
TIL also receives the Best Supplier Award from Tata Steel and wins the Caterpillar Asia Pacific Division (APD) President’s Award for successful implementation of 6-Sigma protocols.
TIL wins the runner-up award at the Construction World NICMAR Awards in the category of the fastest growing construction equipment company.
5000th crane rolls out of the Kamarhatty manufacturing plant.

Ties up with Hyster – a division of Nacco Materials Handling Group (NMHG) – for forklifts and container handlers for India, Nepal and Bhutan
Ties up with Astec Inc. for bringing their road building solutions to India.
Tractors India Pvt Ltd (TIPL) is formed as wholly owned subsidiary of TIL to undertake the Caterpillar business.

Commences the construction of a new 200-acre factory at Changual, Kharagpur (West Bengal).
